Dr. Alonso is a proud alumna of Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami. She then graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science with General Honors before receiving her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Alonso completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital, as well as a residency in dermatology at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery.
One of the reasons why Dr. Alonso entered the field of medicine is her strong desire to help people. At her state-of-the-art practice in Coral Gables, Florida, Dr. Alonso takes great pride in helping improve her patients’ health and appearance through the use of minimally invasive treatments. In addition to giving back in this way, Dr. Alonso is proud to use her skills as a physician to participate in several charitable organizations. Dr. Alonso is proud to volunteer her time and services to various events hosted by the American Cancer Society . In addition to attending and donating auction items for their annual Hope Gala, Dr. Alonso also has participated in the local Relay for Life by performing cancer screenings at this 24-hour event. Last year alone, she performed 24 cancer screenings and referred 18 participants for further evaluation, bringing cancer awareness to the forefront. Dr. Alonso also sponsored a R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out to Cancer Kids) camp in 2011. The American Cancer Society’s R.O.C.K. Camp is a program for children and teens ages 7-16 who are currently being treated for cancer or have received cancer treatment within the past three years. This unique camp gives teens a chance to forget about the stresses in their life and also bond with others who have been through similar experiences.
